Tree Lighting: The Town of Westernport will hold their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street. Pony rides, Christmas music, model train display, hot chocolate and cookies, visit from Santa and his elf. Everyone welcome.

Thanksgiving Dinner: A free community Thanksgiving dinner will be served Thursday, Nov. 23, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Piedmont Church of God. Dine in or carry out. Everyone welcome.
Saturday, Nov. 25
Free Lunch: God’s Grace Ministries at Piedmont Church of God will present a free community lunch Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or while supplies last. Everyone welcome.
Friday, Dec. 1
Remembrance: A special “Gifts of Light” ceremony will be hosted by the WVU Medicine Hospice on Friday, Dec. 1, at 5 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 301 S Main St., Keyser, to share warm memories of those you wish to honor and memorialize in lights. For a donation of $15 for one, $30 for three, or $60 for six, you can contribute to the lighting of the WVU Medicine Hospice Memorial Tree. Senior Christmas Dinner: Burlington Union Church will be hosting their free senior citizens Christmas dinner on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. at the church.
Open House: Stewart’s Tavern (44 Knobley Road, Ridgeley) will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, featuring pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus, an old-fashioned ornament craft, and some raffles. Refreshments include soup, hot dog, chili dog, bake sale, soup sale (quarts to go) and the chance to enjoy a hot drink next to an open flame.
Decorated for the Season: Traveller’s Rest/Stone House (5772 Northwestern Turnpike, Burlington) will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, decorated for the season with all-natural greenery, offering refreshments, Traveller’s Rest souvenirs, and live music (Andy Agnew and the Travelling Minstrels). The flea market will be open as well as the new TM&P Railroad display with its own set of souvenirs.
Mansion Tours: Carskadon Mansion (600 Carskadon Road, Keyser) will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, providing tours of the mansion decorated for the holiday season and a vintage jewelry sale.
Christmas and Crafts: Ashby’s Fort Museum (227 Dan’s Run Road, Fort Ashby) will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, featuring artisans creating period-specific crafts as well as some finished products for sale starting at 11 a.m.
Gingerbread Bash: Keyser Assembly of God will hold a Gingerbread Bash on Saturday, Dec. 2, beginning at 1 p.m. Families welcome to build gingerbread nativities, make ornaments, play games, listen to the Christmas story, and more. Free and open to the community.
Pampered Chef: The Friends of Felines and Ferals will host a Pampered Chef Bingo Saturday, Dec. 2, at the McCoole VFW. Doors open at 1 p.m.; games begin at 2 p.m. Advance tickets $20; at the door $25. Vendors, food, Chinese auction and more. For tickets, stop by Susan’s Downtown Pet Salon or see any member of Friends of Felines and Ferals.

Historic Christmas: Historic Claysville Church (intersection of Route 50 and Route 93) will have a Christmas program led by Pastor Sally Bartling on Sunday, Dec. 3. Please join the Mineral County Historical Society for this special event.
Benefit Concert: Piedmont Presbyterian Church, 63 Ashfield St., Piedmont, will hold its annual Lights of Love Christmas Benefit Concert Sunday, Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. at the church.
