The Lewis County Midget football team downed Bridgeport 27-0 to claim the Mountaineer Youth Football Championship on Sunday in Grafton. The 23-player team was coached by Tyke Foster, along with assistants Nathan West, Tim Jones, Jason Sloane, Corey Fisher and Brian Deem. The team finished the regular season with a record of 7-2 before blazing a playoff path through some tough competition, taking down Clarksburg 20-13 the opening round before edging Morgantown in the semifinal, 7-6, to punch their ticket to the title game.
