Our bus trips are filling up for next year. As of the other day, there are just a few seats left for Finish The 50 out west trip next July and the day trip to the production of “Ruth” at Sugar Creek, Ohio. The Christmas trip to Biltmore and Billy trip are full. If you are interested in any of these trips, sign up now or get your name on the waiting list. Sometimes there are cancellations. I was on the waiting list for the Vermont trip and I got to go. Call Kay Parsons for more information at 304-372-3970.
I had a new experience last Saturday along with some other people from Jackson County and surrounding counties. I was visiting family in Florida and had a layover. We were on a plane flying to Charleston from Charlotte. Our pilot announced over the intercom that it was too foggy for him to land. He was going to circle over the airport a few times to try to find an opening. If he couldn’t, we would have to fly to Columbus to refuel. We circled a few times and he lowered the landing gears and started to go down to land. Looking out the windows, it was solid white on both sides of the plane. All of a sudden we started going back up into the sky. It was still too foggy. We went to Columbus, refueled, found out the fog had lifted, and returned back to Charleston. We would like to thank our families and friends for waiting all those hours to pick us up.

The past few months, the Drift Run Church Ladies Bible Study has been having lessons on the Armour of God. This month’s lesson was on the Shoe of Peace. What an appropriate timing God gave us for this lesson. Here is a couple of the scripture verses we read.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful. Colossians 3:15
Happy Thanksgiving!
