— Officials with the Fairmont Salvation Army and Fairmont Medical Center. They’re teaming up as the hospital is hosting an angel tree.
— Longtime Harrison County teacher, coach and pastor Paul E. Byrd Jr., who passed away recently at age 67.
— Senior Status Judge Robert B. Stone. Stone served honorably as a circuit judge in Monongalia County for 24 years, then was a senior status judge for almost 15 years. Stone recently passed away at 79.
— Brian Starn, the longtime firefighter for the City of Fairmont who has been elevated from captain to chief.
— Liberty High School, which recently hosted a career fair for students from all around Harrison County.
— County clerks from throughout the state. They’re already hard at work preparing for the 2024 election.
— Local business owners and officials with the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library. They made another First Friday a big success; the latest one had a tailgate theme.
— The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, which continues to hit home runs with its offerings. The latest success: A performance by the Smithsonian Jazz Orchestra.
— Clarksburg Baptist Church, which is celebrating its 175 years of service to the community and also recently held its 14th annual World Market, which helped raise money for the less fortunate around the world.
— Members of the All Saints Catholic Church choir, who will sing with the District of Columbia’s Composition of Praise gospel choir at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington, D.C.
