MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) has been recognized as a Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Care through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Partners in MS Care program. This formal recognition honors the RNI’s commitment to high-quality MS care.

The Comprehensive MS Care Center distinction is awarded to organizations that demonstrate coordinated, multi-disciplinary care for MS. According to the MS Society, RNI clinicians continually demonstrate a wealth of knowledge, experience, and the important attention to detail necessary in treating people living with MS.
“We are proud of the work we’ve done to expand access to comprehensive MS care for the many West Virginians who are living with MS, including treatment with the most highly effective medications, multidisciplinary care for the many symptoms caused by MS, and access to several clinical trials for all subtypes of MS,” Melanie Ward, M.D., RNI neurologist, said.
“Our team is passionate about providing the highest quality MS care in our region, and we look forward to continuing to expand resources for our patients. We are very appreciative of the National MS Society for its support of our clinic.”
Dr. Ward traveled to Richmond, Virginia, in October for the Society’s Virginia-West Virginia Chapter Board Retreat, where she joined fellow panelists for an update about MS care and research in Virginia and West Virginia. Following the panel discussion, Ward received the RNI’s Comprehensive Care Center certificate.
