Vonda "Kay" Brown, age 76, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at her home. She was born on September 17, 1947, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Donald Wamsley and Vernia Hollen Wamsley. She is survived by her son Brian Mark Evans of North Carolina; nieces: June and husband Gabe Devono of Bridgeport, WV, Sabrinna and husband Mike Wiley of Buckhannon, WV, and Susan and husband Randy Cunningham of Myrtle Beach; sister-in-law Hope Wamsley; brother-in-law Don Raney, and also several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Junior and Don Wamsley; and two sisters: Helen Raney and Shirley Warner. Kay lived in Durham, North Carolina for 25 years and was employed there with Kroger's. She loved decorating her home, baking, and traveling, A graveside service was held Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 2 pm at Heavner Cemetery with Pastor David Cunningham officiating.
