MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia University's Public Relations Student Society of America hosted a Friendsgiving event at the Media Innovation Center at Evansdale Crossing.
The event, held Monday, brought together students to celebrate culinary diversity before Thanksgiving break.
The event featured six cultural representations, including Hispanic, Caribbean, Southern U.S., Jewish, Greek and French cuisines. Attendees tasted a variety of dishes from these six cultures.
“Hosting this event was a great way to bring together students from different cultures and backgrounds while also giving back,” said Alyssa Reeves, the society's secretary.
All proceeds from ticket sales, totaling approximately $400, will be donated to the Children's Home Society of West Virginia. The Children's Home Society of West Virginia is dedicated to foster care.
The West Virginia University Public Relations Student Society of America is a student organization. It aims to foster professional development and networking opportunities for aspiring public relations practitioners.
