How can anyone who has served or is in the military accept Trump as their commander-in-chief when he said John McCain wasn’t a hero because he was captured in Vietnam and tortured?
Remember, he could have been released earlier because of his dad’s status, but he chose to wait his turn. When it was Trump’s turn to go into the military, he got five waivers because of his feet(?).
I bring this up because he wants to be the commander-in-chief again. Scary! What’s scary is that he not only had classified documents that could be detrimental to our country, but as president, he could show classified documents without penalty.
All those candidates that have run or are running against Trump are basically conservative. Trump may have conservative tendencies, but he is a lot more. Some Republicans who vote for Trump want more than conservative values. What could that be?
I have a theory. I’m talking hardcore Trump people. I think they want to be violently different and come out of their prejudice shell. Violence to the point of unprecedented war and prejudice to the point of purging everyone but “white Christians.”
Are all that way? I hope not. There is a faction of Trump supporters that just like controversy. They like to stir the pot without getting anything done. When a Trump follower looks in the mirror, what do they see? They see Trump! They have lost sight of their self.
Maybe they are disillusioned by a cult leader who makes some promises they believe, only to be caught up in his rhetoric. One or two promises do not define a great leader. When people laugh at pain or insults, it’s morbid, and those morbid people vote for a morbid man.
I’ve tried to put myself in that mindset, to understand their thinking, but I can’t. It takes a special kind of character. Confliction is their norm. They want justice, but condemn the government law agencies. They want justice based on their political preferences, reasons that are harmful to us all.
Let’s just say they do away with all law agencies that do not conform with their political views; lawlessness will prevail. I believe that we have been lax on combating crime, but political pressure will cause an open market and become a third-world country.
Democracy can be fragile. Our country is like a row of many dominoes. Trump will kick the first and leading domino. He will kick the domino ahead of him, causing all the dominoes to fall and leave him to rule. What then would be left to rule? I guess we would be his subjects.
As far as the other Republican candidates, I don’t agree with their platform policies, but I don’t believe that they want to destroy our democracy, other than DeSantis.
