Swanton structure fire under investigation

The structure was a 40 ft. by 80 ft. metal framed building owned by Yoder Pallet Company. The estimated loss is $100,000.

There were reportedly no smoke or fire alarms or sprinklers at the location.

The Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responder, with 50 firefighters controlling the blaze in 20 minutes.

The fire was discovered by a neighbor and originated in the interior roofline in the ceiling.

The preliminary cause is determined as accidental, caused by an unspecified electrical failure.
