CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A bill that would ban both surgical and medication gender-affirming care for minors in West Virginia was approved by a committee of the West Virginia Senate, but not before one senator attempted to address concerns with the bill.

The vast majority of the Senate Health and Human Resources Committee approved an amended version of House Bill 2007, prohibiting certain medical practices.
