BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (WV News) — The Bobcat women's basketball team opened the 2023-24 season on a positive note, coasting to a dominate win over Penn State-Mont Alto n front of home crowd at the Rockefeller Center last Sunday, 95-30.
Wesleyan put 18 players on the court and all but four scored.
Emma Witt and Charlotte Sherrill led the Bobcats with 12 points each.
Witt turned in an efficient shooting night from the field, sinking three of her four shot attempts and buried six of her seven attempts from the free throw line while Sherrill drilled four of her six three-point attempts.
M'laya Ainsworth added nine points, hitting four of her seen shots from the field, including one three-pointer.
Desiree Roy couldn't miss, connecting on all four of her shot attempts from the field to finish with eight points while Sydney Baird added seven points in the win.
The WVWC women's basketball team (1-0) will be back in action this Thursday, Nov. 16 for a 5:30 p.m. tip with Shepherd University at Rockefeller Center.
