CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — With the volleyball season now over, many players from Doddridge County and South Harrison are receiving recognition for their efforts this season.
Like in previous years, the all-Little Kanawha Conference honors include first team, second team, special honorable mention and honorable mention.
Locals who earned second-team all-LKC honors include Doddridge County’s Sidney Hinzman and South Harrison’s Hope Woods. Doddridge County’s Gracie Dean, Emma Frankenberger and Madison Lagasse each received all-LKC special honorable mention honors.
Three girls from South Harrison earned all-LKC honorable mention honors: Molly Thomas, Emily Haddix and Faith Sears.
Those from other schools around the conference who received first-team all-LKC honors include: Claire Strobl, Williamstown, (Player of the Year); Macy Casto, Ravenswood; Jayci Gray, Ritchie County; Mahailey Nicholson, Roane County; Braeden Wall, Tyler Consolidated; Bayley Frashure, Gilmer County; Addie Stephens, Wirt County; Becca Shamblin, Williamstown; Andlyn Corathers, St. Marys; Ally Nicolais, Wirt County; Abby Scritchfield, Ravenswood; and Sydney Kopshina, Ritchie County.
Others who received second-team all-LKC honors include: Ilyuana Evans, Clay County; Piper Harlan, Roane County; Katie Grimm, Tyler Consolidated; Rylee Burkhammer, Clay County; Ava Dobbins, Gilmer County; Paige Blosser, Roane County; Kyndra Johnson, Williamstown; Mia Schofield, St. Marys; Payton Staats, Wahama, and Jocelynn Thorn, Parkersburg Catholic.
There also were many more girls who earned special honorable mention honors. They include: Stevie Starsick, Gilmer County; Annie Starcher, Ravenswood; Gracey Champ, Clay County; Izzy DeAngelo, Parkersburg Catholic; Kaylie West, Tyler Consolidated; Riley Landis, Williamstown; Maddy Morton, Clay County; Makayla Moore, Wirt County; Anna Casto, Ravenswood; Laci Hilkey, Ritchie County; Olivia Morehead, Roane County; Callie Powell, St. Marys; Jules Lattea, Tyler Consolidated; and Kaycee Tennant, Wahama.
And finally, many girls from other schools across the LKC earned honorable mention honors. That includes: Emily Dennison, Calhoun County; Karlee Garrett, Calhoun County; Eden Wellings, Gilmer County; Baylee Butta, Ritchie County; Laura Hacker, St. Marys; and Jayla Simpkins, Wahama.
