JACKSON, W.Va. (WV News) — Little Kanawha Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) is accepting applications for its 2023-2024 mini grant program period. Applications opened October 1 and will be accepted with a deadline for applications to be received by Jan. 1, 2024.
Project categories to be funded are Land Conservation, Land Management and Water Management. Grants are open to the nine-county area served by the Little Kanawha RC&D: Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wetzel, Wirt and Wood.
To date, the RC&D has awarded a vast number of grants to counties, communities, clubs and organizations. Funding from this program is considered seed money to help kick start a project, assist with in-progress work being done or to help complete a project area. While some grant programs offer larger grants, these smaller mini grants are still vital to the completion of many projects.
To request an application, email info@lkrcd.com or call 304-679-3639 to request an application by mail. Applications may also be picked up at the Project Sharing site, 2309 Gihon Road, Parkersburg, on Wednesdays from 9 AM to 2 PM. The deadline is approaching, don’t delay!
