Nature Walk, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. (Herrington Manor). Now is the time to learn trees by the bark. If you can identify five, you know 90% of the upland northern hardwoods. It’s the other 10% that make it somewhat difficult. There are still plenty of green plants in the woods, and if it snows, they can make a beautiful winter scene.

Guided Canyon Walk, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Swallow Falls Camp Store). There is lots to see and learn about on this unique trail. A lumberman and whisky barrel maker named Henry Krug owned this section of the park. Krug gave the property to the Masons of Pennsylvania and West Virginia so that it could be used as a retreat center. The State Board of Forestry and Masons entered into an agreement in 1923. The State agreed to manage and protect the property as an Auxiliary State Forest.
Tolliver Trail Walk, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (Swallow Falls Camp Store). This trail is little hard to find but is a jewel. We start by traveling a mile on the 5.5 mile white trail and find the red Tolliver trail. We rise 100 feet in elevation and discover a varied habitat. The journey is about three miles.
