Raleigh County Memorial Airport

A man from Florida is facing a significant fine from the federal government after attempting to bring a loaded gun onto a flight at an airport in West Virginia. The incident occurred on Monday at Raleigh County Memorial Airport, according to a press release from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

The handgun, a .380 caliber firearm, was detected by an X-ray machine during the security screening process. TSA reported that the gun was loaded with six bullets. Upon discovering the weapon, TSA immediately informed a deputy from the Raleigh County sheriff's office, who allowed the man to return the gun to his vehicle. The TSA stated that the man now faces a substantial financial penalty from the federal government due to his actions. These penalties can reach up to $15,000, depending on the circumstances.
