If I am frank here, I wouldn’t have taken a snapshot of a raw burger to use as the photo this week. I got ahead of myself and thought, “Let’s get a quick picture while grilling out this past weekend for my extended family.”
After the burgers were gone and I started planning out my week, I realized that I never got a finished product shot. So bear with me.
To me, the perfect burger is moist, seasoned and flavorful. Given the weather Hurricane Ida is bringing us this week, I’m unsure if we will have many opportunities for grilling burgers. However, if you can, make a burger and then relax and enjoy Labor Day.
In a large bowl, combine egg and seasonings. Use food-safe disposable gloves and incorporate the beef into the egg and seasonings. Shape into four 3/4-inch thick patties.
Grill, covered, on a greased grill rack over medium heat or broil 4 inches from the heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 165° and juices run clear. Serve on buns, with toppings as desired.
