Santa will be taking a break from overseeing Christmas preparations this year to visit Gallery 62 West to take pictures with families during an annual fundraiser by the Taylor County Arts Council and the PATCH Coalition.
GRAFTON, W.Va. (WV News) — The Taylor County Arts Council (TCAC) is ushering in a season of fun at Gallery 62 West with various activities for everyone to enjoy.
To kick off the excitement, the council has teamed up with the Planned Approach to Taylor County Health (PATCH) Coalition to offer residents a way to capture the holiday spirit with mini photo sessions.
For just $25, families, well-behaved pets included, are welcome to use the backdrop of beautifully decorated trees at Gallery 62 West to take holiday pictures. The cost includes 15 minutes in front of the camera, as well as six digital images with print permissions.
The council noted that those who bring in a donation of non-perishable food items or hygiene products to donate to the PATCH Coalition’s blessing boxes, will receive two more edited digital photos.
Sessions will be scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, from 4-8 p.m., with Santa present for pictures from 5-7 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit the both organizations and the wonderful works they do in and for the community.
Reservations are required, and organizers have noted that the spots will fill up quickly. To reserve your place today, email patchcoalitionpresident@gmail.com or call 304-506-2030.
Nov. 28 will also mark the return of Cookies & Cocoa with Santa at Gallery 62 West. During the event, children will have a chance to meet with Santa, while enjoying some sweet treats. The event is free to participants.
For those who are looking to create art instead of becoming it, there will be plenty of options in the coming weeks at Gallery 62 West.
Throughout the month, children can get creative at Gallery 62 West with the return of Kringle Krafts.
Be sure to bring the kids out on Thursdays throughout the month until Dec. 14 and let them take part in imaginative sessions that are sure to be fun, exciting and entertaining, while they get their creative juices flowing, all in the name of spreading Christmas cheer to those they love.
Participants will be guided through some fun holiday-themed projects, with a different focus each week. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 16, with another on Nov. 30, one Dec. 7 and a final meeting Dec. 14.
Updates for each week’s project can be found on the council’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TCAC.Inc, and children are invited to attend any or all of the sessions they choose.
In addition, the TCAC will be serving up delicious soups during the annual Grafton Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 2. Gallery 62 West will also play host to a gala and art auction on Dec. 9.
Planning is still underway, and more details will be provided closer to the date of those two events.
